Cybersecurity Student

To meet the growing demand for our product we’re currently seeking a Cybersecurity Student. In this position you will help protect our systems and people by monitoring security alerts, supporting vulnerability and patch management, and completing a capstone project, as part of a fixed-term placement for students in a cybersecurity or related IT program.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

·         Monitor security alerts and logs across our Microsoft 365 environment and escalate suspected incidents

·         Support vulnerability scanning and patch management through to remediation

·         Triage and document user-reported phishing and security incidents

·         Assist with user access reviews and IT asset inventory upkeep

·         Help create security awareness content for office and plant employees

·         Complete a capstone project and present your findings to IT and leadership

We’re Looking For:

·         Current student in the RRC Polytech Cybersecurity program (or similar), eligible for a work placement

·         Foundational knowledge of networking, security operations and Microsoft 365

·         CompTIA Security+ or Network+ (or in progress), scripting in PowerShell or Python, and SIEM exposure are assets

·         Analytical skills and attention to detail

·         Someone who understands the value of time and the importance of communication

·         Someone who is energized by growth and change, with a strong desire to help people succeed
