Position Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Service Technician to join our team in Portage la Prairie. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining agricultural equipment. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and inspect equipment for faults and malfunctions
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs
- Conduct equipment updates, pre-delivery, and pre-season inspections
- Complete detailed work orders and technician notes
- Operate machinery for testing and diagnostics
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all OH&S safety standards
- Collaborate with the service team and report to the Service Manager
Qualifications
- Journeyman certification preferred, but equivalent experience accepted
- Solid knowledge of agricultural equipment repair methods and tools
- Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience using diagnostic software and systems
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Dependable, customer-focused, and team-oriented
Physical Requirements
- Regular standing and frequent walking, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Ability to lift and move parts up to 50 lbs consistently
- Must be able to work on your feet for the duration of the shift
- Occasional vehicle and heavy equipment operation
- Requires hand-eye coordination and good visual focus
Work Environment
- Loud indoor environment with frequent exposure to machinery
- Occasional outdoor work and exposure to mechanical vibrations
- Possible exposure to high temperatures, fumes, and chemicals
- PPE required at all times
