We are now offering current employees the opportunity to apply to join our London team as Shop Supervisor.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

The successful candidate will:

  • Oversee, supervise, and assist shop personnel in the assigned garage; schedule and assign work to be completed; and provide on-the-job instruction of repair and service practices for other employees.

  • Assist with on-the-road vehicle breakdown situations.

  • Perform repairs, preventative maintenance services, and inspections on vehicles and equipment.

  • Diagnose engine, brake, and electrical components of vehicles using onboard vehicle computer systems and various diagnostic software tools.

  • Perform requisition of parts and enter work orders using fleet maintenance software, documenting accurate part usage and repair time.

  • Support and coordinate maintenance activities for both electric and conventional diesel-powered vehicles, including monitoring charging infrastructure and ensuring safe work practices for high-voltage systems.

WHAT WE NEED


  • Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to successfully work with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • The ability to prepare correspondence, reports, forms, and lists using prescribed formats.

  • The ability to apply rational systems to solve practical problems and diagnose the causes of improperly operating electrical and generating systems in automotive vehicles and to make necessary repairs.

  • Thorough knowledge of school bus operation and maintenance—including emerging electric vehicle technologies and related safety procedures.

  • Thorough knowledge of the tools and equipment used in vehicular repair shops.

  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience.

  • Apprenticing or preferably licensed 310S. Apprenticing or preferably licensed for 310T is an asset.

  • Familiarity with relevant diagnostic software, including Cummins INSITE, Navistar Engine Diagnostics, Allison DOC, Diamond Logic, Meritor WABCO, and/or Cetaris is an asset.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.

  • Clean Driver’s Abstract and willingness to undergo a Criminal Records Check if asked.
