Entry-Level Marketing Manager (Part-Time)

Pay: $18-$25/hour
Hours: 25-30 hrs/week (some evenings/weekends for events)
Location: Milwaukee area (multi-unit: 3rd Street Market Hall, Brown Deer, food truck, catering)

About the Role

Smokin’ Jack BBQ is looking for a hands-on, entry-level marketer to grow brand awareness and drive traffic for our restaurants, food truck, and catering. You’ll plan and execute scrappy, high-impact campaigns, create content, and turn guests into fans.

What You’ll Do

  • Social & Content: Own Instagram/Facebook/TikTok posting calendar; shoot quick photo/video on-site; write captions that sell.

  • Local Marketing: Promote weekly specials, pop-ups, and festivals; coordinate flyers, signage, and partner cross-promos.

  • Catering Lead Gen: Manage inquiries, respond with templated scripts, nurture leads, and route hot leads to the Catering team.

  • Reputation & SEO: Update Google Business Profiles; request & reply to reviews; keep menus/hours accurate.

  • Email/SMS: Build simple monthly newsletters and event blasts; track open/click rates.

  • Reporting: Track weekly KPIs (follower growth, engagement rate, clicks, cost per lead, catering inquiries booked).

  • Light Design: Produce on-brand graphics for posts, stories, and printable flyers.

You Bring

  • Strong writing skills and an eye for photo/video content (phone content welcome).

  • Basic design chops (Canva or similar).

  • Comfort with IG/FB/TikTok, Link in Bio tools, and scheduling apps.

  • Organized, reliable, and outgoing—comfortable filming on-site and interacting with guests/staff.

  • Able to lift/transport basic promo materials; valid driver’s license a plus.

Nice-to-Haves (not required):

  • Experience with email tools (Mailchimp/Klaviyo), simple ad boosting, or Shopify.

  • Event marketing or hospitality experience.

Schedule & Work Style

  • 15–20 hours/week; mix of on-site content capture and flexible remote time.

  • Occasional nights/weekends for big events (food truck, festivals, catering tastings).

Success Looks Like (60–90 Days)

  • Consistent 3–5 posts/week with on-brand visuals.

  • +10–15% monthly social reach; steady growth in followers and engagement.

  • Updated Google listings; monthly email with >25% open rate.

  • Trackable increase in catering inquiries from social/GBP/QR flyers.
