Location:  McKenzie Corner, 1286 McKenzie Ave., Victoria, BC V8P 5P2

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Part Time Produce Clerk passionate about fruits, veggies and great local food to join our Produce! Previous experience in a produce environment is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude. Produce Clerks are responsible for the proper filling and rotation of our displays to ensure all products meet our high standards for freshness and quality and provide excellent customer service. 

• Trim, water, and merchandise produce.
• Rotate and cull produce to ensure quality standards are upheld.
• Provide superior customer service.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Gain knowledge of store products and produce growing seasons.
•  Adhere to all store policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

What began as a small idea quickly took root in Victoria, where the community embraced and amplified that passion - helping The Root Cellar grow into what it is today. Across both markets, we proudly offer Vancouver Island’s widest selection of locally grown, organic, and conventional produce, alongside a full-service butcher and deli, artisanal groceries, dairy, fresh breads, and bulk foods.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• The ability to work afternoon and closing shifts until 10:00 pm.
• The ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for long periods of time, work in a cool environment, and lift up to 50lbs.
• The ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a busy environment.
• The ability to work well within a team.
• Previous retail/customer service experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude!
