We are seeking an experienced, friendly and professional Line Cook in the evenings to join our team at our hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn BHAM SE Liberty Park. The line cook will run the kitchen operations for the HGI Grille each morning during the hours open from 5-9pm. The successful candidate will have the necessary experience to cook our Hilton buffet, excellent customer service skills, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Recently ranked by BHAM BUSINESS JOURNAL at #3 (out of 83 area hotels) and currently #7 on TripAdvisor for Greater Birmingham, the Hilton Garden Inn BHAM/Liberty Park is the quality place you want to work!

POSITION: LINE COOK

JOB SUMMARY

PM Kitchen Cook position is available Friday & Saturday evenings responsible for cooking from our simple Hilton Dinner Menu.  Breakfast hours are from 5-9pm, and we start preparation about 4:30pm with approx. an hour after closing time to clean and prep for the coming day.  Line cook experience required yet we will train the proper candidate for the position.  Positive F&B Team is ready to work with you to continue to make our guests happy!!! 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Consistently offer professional, friendly, and attentive service to guests; interact with guests and answer questions that guests may have pertaining to their breakfast dining experience; become familiar with our hotel, services offered, hours of operation, nearby places of interest, etc.

· Set up and maintain the kitchen each morning by following the hotel franchise F&B guidelines; be familiar with supper items and beverage choices.  Cook supper items requested from our guests selected from our menu.

· Collapse the kitchen each end of evening; replenish and restock dinner items to prepare for the next day; communicate with hotel management regarding inventory of all evening products and any additional feedback

· Maintain cleanliness of work area throughout the shift that meet the county health codes and the hotel quality assurance requirements; practice clean-as-you-go procedures for dining and preparation areas

· Comply with sanitation regulations, guidelines and safety standards pertaining to food products; protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines

· Perform other tasks as necessary or required to meet or exceed guest satisfaction

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

· Previous experience in the hospitality industry (desired)

· Previous experience as Line Cook (strongly required)

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Ability to listen attentively

· Must have the physical ability to walk, bend, and stand for time periods

· Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

· Must adhere to grooming and appearance standards in alignment with uniform

Must be on-time able to be cooking for guests by 5pm and serving until 9pm.
