Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure, the Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure across Payworks’ campus and data centres. This role specializes in diagnosing and resolving complex system and network issues while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across hybrid and cloud environments. You will monitor infrastructure, collaborate with IT and Security teams, and implement solutions that support business continuity, security compliance, and long-term technology strategy.

CONFIGURE, ANALYZE & OPTIMIZE – IT’S WHAT YOU’LL DO
+ Design and evolve infrastructure - Plan and implement hybrid cloud and virtualization environments, including cloud-native services, to support strategic initiatives and scalability.
+ Monitor and maintain systems -  Oversee servers, storage, networks, and firewalls; perform system checks, cloud health assessments, and performance tuning to ensure reliability.
+ Configure and administer platforms - Manage servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud services (Azure/AWS), including patching, updates, and access controls.
+ Provide advanced network support - Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, manage network devices, and maintain secure, high-performing network environments.
+ Strengthen security and compliance - Partner with Information Security to implement controls, support audits, and ensure infrastructure aligns with regulatory and security standards.
+ Enable backup and recovery - Implement and maintain backup solutions, test disaster recovery plans, and ensure data integrity and business continuity.
+ Drive automation and efficiency - Develop automation using Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell) and support DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
+ Collaborate and innovate - Work closely with internal teams and vendors to implement solutions, evaluate new technologies, and support long-term infrastructure direction.
+ Document and support operations - Maintain detailed documentation, asset inventories, and provide technical support and escalation for infrastructure-related issues.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
+ Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ Senior-level experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi/vCenter) and virtualization environments.
+ 3+ years of hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud).
+ Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN), Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, IIS, and SQL Server.
+ Experience with infrastructure automation, including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell).
+ Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, and enterprise infrastructure troubleshooting.
+ Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions; business continuity experience is an asset.
+ Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and multi-cloud environments is an asset.
+ Strong problem-solving, time management, and collaboration skills, with a high level of ownership and accountability.

This role may require participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
