HVAC/R Technical Specialist
Kerr Controls Ltd. (Kerr) is a leading distributor of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Equipment and Supplies. We have an immediate opening for a dynamic, dedicated and highly motivated HVAC/R Technical Specialist primarily based out of Atlantic Canada or Ontario.
In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to Kerr’s various product lines, delivering timely and effective support to our HVAC/R customer base across Atlantic Canada and Ontario. Key responsibilities include providing post-sales technical support and training to both customers and employees, leading technical training sessions, managing a high volume of customer calls through our Technical Support Line, and conducting onsite assessments as needed. You will work closely with our warranty department to evaluate and resolve warranty claims in accordance with Kerr’s policies. Clear and professional communication with both customers and manufacturers is essential, as is the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. The role also involves preparing detailed reports on problem situations and proposed solutions. Travel is required within your designated territory and occasionally throughout Atlantic Canada, with periodic national and international travel for manufacturer training.
What you bring to the team:
• HVAC/R Technical School Training with 5-10 years of experience
• Comfortable working on ladders, accessing rooftops, and navigating crawl spaces or attics, including in varying weather conditions for extended periods (up to 4 hours)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Exceptional communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Solid understanding of HVAC/R industry from sales, installation, and service perspectives
• Proficient in conflict resolution
• Ability to deliver technical training to large audiences.
• Professional demeanour and ability to remain calm under pressure
• Bilingual preferred (French and English)
