About the Program:  

 

Employment program supports persons with self-identified disabilities who are experiencing barriers to employment. The objective of the program is to prepare participants to acquire new skills and enhance existing skills, so they find long term success in finding and keeping good jobs and contributing to healthy, inclusive society. Participants receive the skills and support to help in preparing for, finding, and keep good jobs or becoming self-employed, or advancing in their careers, or taking on new or greater responsibilities. 

 

Position Summary:  

 

The Position reports to Manager, Employment Programs 


We are looking an enthusiastic and pro-active Employment Outcomes Specialist to operate within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on achieving measurable employment outcomes and meeting program deliverables. This role is responsible for driving client progress from intake through to sustainable employment, ensuring that all activities are aligned with outcome targets, contract requirements, and organizational standards. 


The specialist provides comprehensive oversight of the client journey, including career coaching, job search activities, workshop participation, and coordination with employers and community partners. Emphasis is placed on tracking progress, identifying barriers early, and implementing targeted strategies to support successful employment placements. 

In addition to direct client support, the role requires data management and performance monitoring. The Employment Outcomes Specialist maintains accurate and timely documentation, analyzes program data, and contributes to reporting processes that measure effectiveness, inform continuous improvement, and ensure accountability to funders. 


This position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to work effectively with individuals facing complex barriers to employment. A high level of adaptability, initiative, and results-oriented practice is essential. This is an in-person role with no opportunity for remote work. 

 

What You'll Be Doing: 

 

Client Support and Case Management (45%) 

  • Conduct comprehensive intake and ongoing assessments to identify barriers, employment goals, and readiness for sustainable employment. 

  • Provide individualized, outcomes-driven coaching to support job readiness, including resume development, interview preparation, and skill-building aligned with labour market demand. 

  • Develop and implement targeted employment action plans, with clear milestones and timelines tied to placement and retention outcomes. 

  • Actively move clients through the employment lifecycle, from intake to job placement and retention, ensuring consistent progress toward program targets. 

  • Facilitate employment-focused workshops and training sessions that build job readiness skills, including resume development, interview preparation, workplace expectations, and job search strategies, ensuring content is aligned with current labour market demands and participant needs. 

  • Provide intensive, hands-on support during work experiences and initial employment phases to ensure successful job attachment and retention, reinforcing workplace expectations.  

  • Conduct structured follow-ups at 30, 60, and 90 days post-placement to monitor employment stability, address challenges, and support retention outcomes. 

  • Identify and respond to barriers in real-time, adjusting intervention strategies to maintain momentum toward employment goals. 

  • Facilitate participant supports as required, including transportation coordination, access to necessary work equipment or certifications, job search activities such as resume submission, online applications, and employer follow-ups.  

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions, employment outcomes, and progress in the client management system. 

 

Program Reporting and Performance Tracking (20%) 

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date client files in alignment with accreditation standards and funder requirements. 

  • Track and analyze client progress, employment placements, and retention outcomes using internal systems. 

  • Prepare and submit reports on program performance, including key metrics such as employment rates, retention, and participant engagement for both internal and funder requirements.  

  • Utilize data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for program improvement, and contribute to strategies that enhance outcomes. 

  • Support continuous quality improvement processes, ensuring compliance with organizational and contractual standards. 

 

Employer & Facilitator Development and Coordination (15%) 

  • Develop and maintain employer and facilitator relationships to create sustainable employment opportunities for program participants aligned with program outcomes and labour market needs. 

  • Actively engage in job development activities, including sourcing placements, matching clients to opportunities, and negotiating placements with employers. 

  • Provide ongoing employer support to ensure successful onboarding, integration, and retention of participants in the workplace. 

  • Mediate and resolve workplace challenges between employers and participants to support sustained employment outcomes. 

  • Coordinate with facilitators to ensure workshops and training align with employment outcomes and program expectations. 

  • Monitor facilitator performance and participant engagement to ensure quality and consistency of service delivery. 

  • Educate employers and partners on program goals, expectations, and the value of hiring program participants. 

 

Community Engagement (10%) 

  • Promote program services to community partners, referral agencies, and stakeholders to support client recruitment and program visibility. 

  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations to enhance wraparound supports and improve client employment readiness. 

  • Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and sector meetings to strengthen referral pathways and partnerships. 

 

Administration (10%) 

  • Ensure all administrative tasks related to client intake, service delivery, and employer engagement are completed accurately and in a timely manner. 

  • Coordinate materials, scheduling, and logistics for workshops and client activities as required. 

  • Complete employer and participant satisfaction surveys and ensure documentation is properly recorded. 

  • Provide general administrative and office support as needed, including reception coverage when required. 

 

Perform other duties and projects as required and not limited to the responsibilities as mentioned.

What We’re Looking For:  

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Experience working with individuals facing complex barriers to employment, applying trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches while maintaining clear expectations and accountability to support job readiness, attachment, and long-term retention. 

  • Proven experience in employment-focused case management within fast-paced social service environments, with the ability to actively move clients from intake through to sustainable employment outcomes while managing competing priorities and performance targets. 

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize data tracking systems and tools (e.g., Excel, case management systems) to monitor client progress and measure employment outcomes.  

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and data handling. 

  • Proficient in verbal and written English at a professional level, with excellent communication and interpersonal ability. 

  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).  

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.  

  • Criminal Record Check.  

  • Emergency First Aid certification is an asset.  

  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information effectively and possess strong integrity.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, performance-driven team environment, while also taking initiative and ownership of individual client outcomes and program targets. 

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess client needs, identify barriers, and implement targeted strategies to achieve sustainable employment outcomes. 

  • Highly motivated, results-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to take initiative, problem-solve in real time, and consistently drive clients toward employment outcomes. 

 

Knowledge:  

  • Strong understanding of current labour market trends, in-demand sectors, and local hiring practices, with the ability to align client pathways to realistic employment opportunities. 

  • Knowledge of the barriers faced by job seekers with complex needs, and effective strategies to support job readiness, employment attachment, and retention. 

  • Familiarity with community resources, training programs, and wraparound supports that enhance employability and address barriers to sustained employment. 

  • Working knowledge of relevant employment legislation and workplace requirements (e.g., Employment Standards Act, WorkSafeBC), including employer expectations and workplace compliance. 

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and practical approaches to coaching individuals through career decision-making and employment planning.
