At EDMO, staff members spend their time connecting with kids, honing leadership skills and making a real impact - all while rocking wacky costumes and getting pied in the face! Our programs offer a unique opportunity to help kids uncover hidden talents, while pursuing your own personal and professional goals and passions. Spend your time developing translatable and transferable professional skills (like managing and coaching) while growing social emotional learning skills side by side with the kids (like collaboration, empathy and problem solving). 

The Region Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of all EDMO programs in their designated region under their charge. This role specifically oversees all aspects of our DCYF programs (San Francisco City & County: Department of Children, Youth & Their Families). The Region Manager also oversees scheduling, training, and feedback cycles for staff.

Main responsibilities of the Region Manager include:

  • Develop and support EDMO programs under their charge
  • Oversee all programs staff connected to the programs they manage
  • Manage and maintain partnership with DCYF
  • Assist in renewal and continuation of current partnership with DCYF
  • Manage all data entry, invoice narratives and attendance tracking within the DCYF CMS
  • Maintain and oversee all food service requirements for DCYF programs
  • Attend all DCYF focused meetings and trainings 
  • Actively build and maintain relationships with schools, local organizations, and funders to help promote and support the programs
  • Evaluate and assess program strengths and weaknesses and think strategically about opportunities, adjustments, new ideas, and ways to improve programs
  • Work with the the Programs Director to develop plans for future programs
  • Manage and help train all summer staff
  • Teach After School Programs during the school year
  • Visit sites as needed during summer months - be prepared to assist in anyway needed across all EDMO programs in cases of an emergency

Preferred qualifications are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in education or a related course of study  
  • Experience working with youth of all ages from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds
  • Past involvement in a summer camp environment as staff
  • Experience hiring, managing, and coaching a team of employees
  • Experience (and a love for!) working with kids
  • High sense of responsibility and dependability 
  • Experience interacting with families 
  • Skilled in problem solving, multi tasking, creativity and flexibility 
  • Experience facilitating groups of children and/or staff
  • Collaborative, patient and positive attitude with a willingness to problem solve
  • High level of experience providing feedback
  • Knowledge about Social and Emotional learning is a plus!

Additional Information

  • Full time position
  • Start Date: January
  • Partially remote job but will teach in person after school classes and manage camps on site in the summer months
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • We travel 3x a year for in person retreats (paid for by the organization) and must be willing to travel
