Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Job Summary
Echelon Fitness is looking for a passionate team player to join our team of Cloud Systems Automation and DevOps Engineers. We are a connected fitness company that makes wellness fun and approachable by creating internet-enabled workout equipment with streaming content and realtime statistics.
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will help make sure that our AWS-based systems are highly available and performant. Our infrastructure team provisions resources (using infrastructure-as-code automation whenever possible) and monitors for performance and cost optimization. In a DevOps/DevEx capacity, the cloud infra team functions as a “product team†for our developers by creating a CI/CD pipeline that makes it easy to frequently deploy code in a well-tested manner with no down time.
Responsibilities
Connect our systems and applications with CloudWatch, DataDog, and OpsGenie for analytics, logging, and alerting.
Proactively monitor our systems for issues before they grow to become consumer impacting.
Be part of an on-call rotation to quickly respond to any major problems or outages.
Implement policies and ensure auto-scaling is functioning properly.
Collaborate cross-functionally to architect solutions that scale.
Work with the software and QA engineers to create a great developer experience.
Ensure documentation is updated in Confluence and GitHub.
Write easily maintainable, reliable, and self-documenting scripts.
Follow an agile workflow with tools like GitHub, Slack, and JIRA.
Ideal Experience
Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Relevant AWS certifications.
At least three years of related work experience building deployment pipelines and supporting large-scale AWS-based consumer software.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Bonus Points
Experience with TerraForm, EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar pipeline automation, infra-as-code, and containerization technologies.
Have implemented load testing.
Eye for security and privacy best practices. Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, HIPPA, etc.
Have worked with high-availability applications and RDS, Redis, and/or Cassandra.
