As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will help make sure that our AWS-based systems are highly available and performant. Our infrastructure team provisions resources (using infrastructure-as-code automation whenever possible) and monitors for performance and cost optimization. In a DevOps/DevEx capacity, the cloud infra team functions as a “product team†for our developers by creating a CI/CD pipeline that makes it easy to frequently deploy code in a well-tested manner with no down time.

Responsibilities

  • Connect our systems and applications with CloudWatch, DataDog, and OpsGenie for analytics, logging, and alerting.

  • Proactively monitor our systems for issues before they grow to become consumer impacting.

  • Be part of an on-call rotation to quickly respond to any major problems or outages.

  • Implement policies and ensure auto-scaling is functioning properly.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to architect solutions that scale.

  • Work with the software and QA engineers to create a great developer experience.

  • Ensure documentation is updated in Confluence and GitHub.

  • Write easily maintainable, reliable, and self-documenting scripts.

  • Follow an agile workflow with tools like GitHub, Slack, and JIRA.

Ideal Experience

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Relevant AWS certifications.

  • At least three years of related work experience building deployment pipelines and supporting large-scale AWS-based consumer software.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with TerraForm, EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar pipeline automation, infra-as-code, and containerization technologies.

  • Have implemented load testing.

  • Eye for security and privacy best practices. Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, HIPPA, etc.

  • Have worked with high-availability applications and RDS, Redis, and/or Cassandra.
