Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and professional Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide non-medical, in-home support to clients. This role is essential to ensuring our clients remain safe, comfortable, and supported in their own homes.

The ideal PCA understands that client-centered care, reliability, and professionalism are non-negotiable and is committed to following care plans, agency policies, and scheduled shifts.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:

  • Bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting

  • Hygiene and personal care

• Provide companionship and emotional support

• Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation as needed

• Prepare light meals and assist with feeding when required

• Perform light housekeeping related to client care (laundry, tidying client areas)

• Support clients with daily routines, schedules, and community outings (if applicable)

• Observe and report changes in client condition, behavior, or environment to management

• Follow individualized care plans and agency protocols

• Complete accurate and timely documentation for each shift

• Maintain client dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times

  
  

  Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in home care, personal care, or caregiving preferred

  • Ability to provide dependable and consistent care

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow instructions, care plans, and supervision

  • Must pass background check, TB screening, and meet onboarding requirements

  • Reliable transportation and ability to report to scheduled shifts on time

  • Willingness to work assigned schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
