Job Title: Counselor- Community 

Reports To: Clinical Director

FLSA Status: Hourly- Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time- Flexible Schedule

Salary: Based on Experience

Position Summary:

At Thrive Behavioral Health Center, we deliver industry-leading peer support for those suffering from Mental Health and/or Substance Use Disorders.  The Counselor will provide a combination of peer support and psychological services to adults. Services include comprehensive assessment and treatment of mental health conditions and substance use disorders.  In addition to assessment and counseling, the clinician will work with our multi-disciplinary team. Experience with CBT and DBT a plus but not required. We are proud to set the industry standard and continue our growth. We are looking for a highly motivated clinician to provide assessments and counseling at our Agency and to work with adults with mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders. 


Education: Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Nursing required- LPC/LSW, LISW/LPCC or RN required


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assessments, orienting patients to the program, ensuring application of policies and procedures, and individual therapy.

  • Provide community-based services and assessments, including case management and counseling.

  • Serve a client base 18 and older.

  • Provide services primarily in the community 

  • Comfortable working individually and in a team.

  • Advocate for the needs of each individual

  • Providing hope and help in changing patterns and behaviors

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Comfort and knowledge working in community/home-based settings.

  • Experience in Peer Recovery Services, Social Service, Customer Service or Non-Profit environment preferred

  • Working knowledge of different pathways to recovery and social systems including evidence based practices

  • Understands problems analysis, decision-analysis, evaluate interventions, and contingency plans

  • Ability to be an active listener by asking questions and reflecting on what is being said

  • Proficient level of ability with a computer; Microsoft Office Products

  • Preferred experience with electronic health records or other types of applications and software

  • Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to articulate information clearly

  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
