Senior Restaurant Accountant
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing financial operations, overseeing daily accounting functions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with restaurant-specific financial regulations. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of restaurant accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly financial records for the restaurant operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit-and-loss statements.
- Perform bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.
- Track inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and other restaurant-specific filings.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and analyze variances to ensure financial goals are met.
- Support the finance team in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of restaurant performance data to management.
- Provide financial advice and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audit processes.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships, ensuring proper documentation for payments and financial records.
- Manage and update accounting software and systems for optimal efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of restaurant-specific accounting practices, including food cost management, inventory control, and payroll systems.
- Proficient in Restaurant365 is a must.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Russian language proficiency is highly preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
