Chula Seafood Uptown is fishing for a driven, detail-oriented Sous Chef to join our leadership team at one of the Valley’s busiest and most established locations. This is a hands-on role focused on executing our chef-driven menu while collaborating on specials and seasonal features with our culinary team.

About the Role


As Sous Chef, you’ll help run the kitchen day-to-day—supporting the Executive Chef in maintaining consistency, efficiency, and high standards across every shift. You’ll be on the line, leading the team, coaching cooks, and helping keep operations dialed.


This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to build leadership skills in a strong, team-driven kitchen.

Our Story


Chula Seafood was founded in Arizona to bring responsibly sourced, high-quality seafood to the desert. We operate our own seafood processing facility in Point Loma, CA, giving us unmatched traceability and freshness.


Our Uptown location is a cornerstone of the brand—high volume, high energy, and a place where strong teams are built.

Responsibilities Include

  • Support the Executive Chef with all kitchen operations

  • Lead the line and set the tone during service

  • Maintain quality, cleanliness, and consistency

  • Assist with ordering, inventory, and food cost controls

  • Train and develop BOH team members

  • Contribute to specials and seasonal menu features

 Qualifications

  • 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience (Sous or strong Lead Line)

  • Scratch kitchen experience; seafood a plus

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to stay calm and focused in high-volume service

  • Culinary degree a plus, but not required

  • Open availability (nights, weekends, holidays)

  • Must love food. Must love hospitality. Must be hungry to grow.
