WCI’s Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and/or residential construction projects. This role analyzes project plans and specifications, collaborates with subcontractors and suppliers, and supports project teams throughout the bidding and preconstruction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • ·          Review project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine scope of work

·          Assist in preparing detailed project cost estimates and bid proposals

·          Assist in subcontractor prequalification processes

·          Develop and maintain qualified subcontractor bid invitation lists

·          Solicit, obtain, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids

·          Perform quantity take-offs and obtain material pricing

·          Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options

·          Participate in pre-proposal meetings and prepare RFIs

·          Evaluate project plans and specifications for constructability

·          Help prepare, organize, and coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) documents

·          Maintain historical cost data and perform document archiving

·          Communicate regularly with management, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams

·          Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings -as required

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial and/or residential construction
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Bid Management, Planhub or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills

Preferred:

·          Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)

·          Experience with Federal or USACE projects

Proficiency with MS Office/Projects and current/existing PM software (Adobe/AutoCad/Bluebeam/RedTeam)
