Job Description:

The Head of Human Resources is responsible for supporting the mission of the school by overseeing all Human Resource daily management, primarily managing the administration of company programs, policies and procedures,

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or Business Management with a minimum of 3 years human resource management/supervisor experience. 

 Â·         Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

·         Flexibility, organization, decision making and problem-solving skills.

·         Interpersonal skills with diverse populations.

·         Maintains professional relationships and works cooperatively with employees, the community and other professionals.

·         Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and coordinate the work of others.

·         Ability to maintain positive relationships with leadership and staff.

·         Is self-motivated and willing to serve.

·         Excellent time management skills with the ability to complete tasks promptly and accurately.

 

BACKGROUND CHECK: Background screening requirements pursuant to Florida law for personnel who are permitted access on school grounds when students are present, who have direct contact with students or who have access to or control of school funds must meet level 2 screening requirements as described in s.1012.32.  All individuals must be prepared to be fingerprinted.

Terms

Reports to the Business Manager; 12-month position. Hours flexible with exempt status.  

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Manage HR related activities, including staffing compensation, managing records, payroll, and employee relations.

·         Reviews and recommends policy and procedure update in compliance with federal and state employment regulations.

·         Assist in monitoring staff compliance to policy and procedures

·         Assist leadership in preparing employee documentation as needed

·         Administers various employee benefits programs including group medical/vision, dental, life and supplemental insurances.

·         Manage work related injury documentation to Work Comp carrier, and track injuries

·         Supports recruiting functions by screening and interviewing applicants.

•       Maintain Level II Background Checks

•       Conducts background checks

•       Validates prior teaching experiences

·         Maintain personnel records of Professional Development

·         Maintain personnel documentation on teacher certifications

·         Conducts new employee orientations and employee offboarding

·         Conduct internal bi-annual staff climate survey

·         Identifying and clarifying employee issues and implementing solutions.

·         Maintain confidentiality for HR related issues

·         Balance Benefit provider invoices with payroll deductions

·         Other duties assigned.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices

Knowledge of Human Resources Software

Knowledge of Payroll Rules and Regulations

 

Work Environment

â— Work is generally performed in an office setting

â— Work normal school hours and other times as needed
