Role Summary
For this position, we're looking for people who live within a reasonable distance to our office who are active, enthusiastic, disciplined, hard workers with a genuine keen interest in natural health and remedies, and who want to get experience in, or advance their career in, Ayurveda and its principles. At Ayutherapy, your duties will include more than just massage; you'll also administer sauna treatments and other therapies that are good for the mind and body and won't wear you out after a while on the job. To top it all off, you'll be trained by a 26-year Ayurveda veteran (Vaidya Archana Rao) in tried-and-true Ayurvedic massage and therapy techniques that will boost your healing abilities and self-assurance. Responsibilities and Duties
While this list is not exhaustive, here are some of the aspects of the role.
- Performing Ayurveda therapeutical oil massages
- Ayurveda Marma Point Therapy
- Healing Ayurveda oil pulling treatments on different parts of the body like on the head, neck, heart, navel, knee, lower back
- Conducting Shirodhara Treatments (oil flow on the forehead)
- Administering other Ayurvedic therapies and treatments as required
- Preparing therapy materials, tools and equipment and maintaining a clean and tidy work area
- Other duties as required
Qualifications and Skills
- California Licensed Massage Therapist
- Understanding and/or experience in administering Ayurvedic treatments, or at a minimum a desire to learn about Ayurveda and it's practices. (TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED)
Additional Important Information
- Therapists with expertise in neuromuscular therapy, clinical sports massage, trigger point, myofascial, and lymphatic therapies are particularly sought after because many of our clients come to us with specific health conditions.
- Massage therapist applicants who also have credentials as a certified esthetician or yoga teacher are encouraged to apply.
- You may be a good fit for this position if you already have a private client business and are looking for 10-20 hours per week (in the beginning) of additional, meaningful healing work AND if you have a genuine desire to learn and expand your skill set. Our skilled therapists are amazed by the positive outcomes their clients experience thanks to the incorporation of individualized Ayurvedic techniques. - To give our therapists time to rebalance and reset after each session, we build in 15 minutes of downtime between clients.
- You can expect to earn an average of $35-$60 per therapy hour including gratuities.
