1. Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure the pharmacy operates in compliance with New Jersey Board of Pharmacy (NJBOP) regulations, DEA, and FDA requirements.

Maintain all necessary licenses, permits, and certifications.

Implement policies and procedures to comply with state and federal laws.

2. Supervision & Operations:

Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory control, and security.

Supervise pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to ensure proper workflow and adherence to best practices.

Maintain accurate prescription records and documentation.

3. Patient Safety & Quality Assurance:

Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and counsel patients on proper use.

Implement continuous quality improvement (CQI) programs to prevent medication errors.

Monitor adverse drug reactions and report them as required.

4. Inventory & Controlled Substances Management:

Maintain accurate records of controlled substances in compliance with DEA and NJBOP regulations.

Conduct regular audits and reconcile discrepancies in controlled substances inventory.

Ensure proper storage and disposal of expired or recalled medications.

5. Personnel Training & Development:

Train pharmacy staff on state and federal regulations, pharmacy procedures, and safety protocols.

Ensure continuing education and license renewal compliance for pharmacy staff.

6. Communication & Reporting:

Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, law enforcement, and auditors.

Report significant pharmacy issues (e.g., drug losses, policy violations) to appropriate authorities.

Maintain open communication with healthcare providers regarding prescriptions and patient care.


Qualifications:

Licensure: Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy.

Experience: Several years of experience in a retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy setting. Prior management experience is often preferred.

Skills: Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Knowledge: Deep understanding of NJ pharmacy laws, federal regulations, and industry standards.

- speaking Spanish or Portuguese is preferred
