The mission of American Baptist College (ABC), a historically Black College with a liberal arts

To accomplish these aims we will teach our students to grow ethically and spiritually by expanding their
vision to include the principles of social justice, equity, advocacy, and leadership in order to build their
analytical and interpretative skills in both faith communities and the broader society.
The Academic and Student Affairs division of American Baptist College invites applications for the
College Registrar. This is a full-time position beginning August 1, 2024. Salary will be commensurate
with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
As the Registrar, you play a significant role in the College’s mission to develop students as
transforming agents in the broader society. In this role, you support the College by providing leadership
and oversight to all aspects of the Office of the Registrar. You play a critical role in the academic and
student affairs operations by effectively managing and maintaining the integrity of all student academic
records, the approved curriculum, the creation and maintenance of course schedules, all areas of student
registration and the recording and reporting of grades, compliance with FERPA regulations, and the
establishment and maintenance of processes for the equitable and consistent administration of policies
and procedures as they relate to registration and academic record keeping. Therefore duties include, but
are not limited to the following:
• Reports to the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA).
• Directs all facets of the operations of the Registrar’s Office including student registration and
records, class schedules, instructional space assignments, graduation clearance, and other related
matters.
• Recommends and participates in the development, implementation and enforcement of policies
and procedures regarding permanent records, transcripts, class rosters, credits, grading, and
withdrawal. Responsible for the security, accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student
records.

• Must keep abreast of operational and reporting trends, regulations, and technology solutions for
improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Registrar’s Office.
• Maintains degree audit system. Certifies all student records related to degree completion,
commencement, and diplomas.
• Develops and publishes major College documents including, but not limited to the academic
calendar, academic catalogue, and class schedules.
• Manages the fiscal affairs of the department, including budget development.
• Provides institutional research via the preparation and maintenance of accurate state and federal
statistical reports such as IPEDS, the Common Data Set, and Petersons. Responsible for
enrollment and degree reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse. Assists with both
internal and external audits
• Provides technical leadership for the College’s system of record, CAMS.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or other related field.
• Three years of relevant academic administration experience as registrar or closely related
enrollment management professional at a higher education institution.
• Demonstrated experience in registrar/student affairs.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Knowledge of principles and practices in registration, records maintenance, and higher
education.
• Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and accuracy.
• Ability to analyze course prerequisites, curriculum requirements and graduation requirements.
• Ability to work with diverse student groups.
