Spay Today. Save Tomorrow.

AnimalKind will open AnimalKind Community Veterinary Clinic (AKCVC) in January 2027. As a nonprofit, our mission is to provide high-quality, affordable spay/neuter and preventive services to address pet overpopulation and shelter overcrowding in North Carolina. We are committed to improving animal health, strengthening the human-animal bond, and serving the Triangle community with compassion, respect, and professionalism.

Founded in Raleigh in 1997, AnimalKind began by educating the public about pet overpopulation and the importance of spaying and neutering. In 2004, we launched THE $20 FIX, helping low-income families access affordable services. Over the past two decades, we have served more than 25,000 families. Our impact continued with the opening of ReTails Thrift Store in 2005 and the SpayNC Helpline in 2009, connecting families statewide with affordable care.
