Chula Seafood Grayhawk is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Executive Chef to lead a strong kitchen team at one of Arizona’s top-rated seafood destinations. This is a working leadership position focused on executing our established, chef-driven menu—while also contributing to specials, seasonal offerings, and long-term menu growth through creative collaboration.


About the Role:

As Executive Chef, you’ll lead a talented team in a high-energy, high-integrity kitchen. You’ll oversee daily BOH operations, mentor staff, maintain consistency, and uphold our culinary standards. You’ll work closely with ownership, GMs, and fellow chefs to grow the menu over time, ensuring that creativity is encouraged, and ideas are shared as part of a collaborative process.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, is deeply passionate about food, and leads by example. This is a working leadership role—hands-on, collaborative, and highly rewarding.

Our Story:

Chula Seafood was born in Arizona to bring responsibly sourced, high-quality seafood to the desert. We operate our own seafood processing facility on the docks in Point Loma, CA, ensuring unmatched traceability and freshness. Our Grayhawk location is a key part of our mission to deliver exceptional seafood with integrity and hospitality.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead kitchen operations and uphold established menu execution
  • Maintain food quality, cleanliness, and consistency
  • Mentor and train BOH staff to meet Chula standards
  • Oversee ordering, inventory, and food cost controls
  • Participate in creative collaboration on specials and long-term menu development
  • Maintain labor budgets and kitchen scheduling
  • Foster a positive, professional, team-driven environment

 

 Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of high-volume kitchen management experience
  • Background in scratch kitchens; seafood experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Experience with ordering, inventory, and cost control systems
  • Culinary degree a plus but not required
  • Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must love food. Must love hospitality. Must lead by example.
