What is the Position?

Reporting to the Production Manager and under general supervision, ensure operational efficiency to achieve business targets with an emphasis of product quality, and on-time delivery while fostering a culture of working safely.

What are the key responsibilities?

  1. Review production schedules and is responsible for capacity resource planning to ensure execution of workload to customer’s requirements are met using departmental resources, blueprints, sketches, operations sheets, and written and/or verbal instructions.

  2. Communicate regularly and effectively with Production, team members and all other support personnel as required.

  3. Ensure accuracy of operations sheets and blueprints and flow of parts to next operation, work-center, or department.

  4. Ensure that all department personnel and visitors wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all prescribed safety rules. Conduct and/or assist with accident investigations as required.

  5. Support continuous improvement activities, conduct and facilitate effective team meetings.

  6. Troubleshoot problems, develop and implement solutions, notify department manager as necessary. Make recommendations that will safely increase productivity while ensuring customer satisfaction.

  7. Participate in the development of departmental budgets and monitor for compliance.

  8. Assist with department audits as scheduled by Quality Assurance.

  9. Train and develop team members and evaluate work performance. Recommend personnel action and provide performance management/leadership support to ensure positive employee relations.

  10. Conduct employee performance appraisal meetings and recommend wage adjustments. Participate in employee selection process and recommend actions of employment termination. Support company policies and procedures.
