Wound Care Physician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled physician to join our wound care team covering the Dallas Metro area and Greater Dallas Metro areas extending into North Texas. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including long term care, skilled nursing facilities and at-home patients. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work collaboratively within healthcare teams and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care. No nights and weekends. Active Texas medical license required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and comprehensive health assessments for patients presenting with wounds.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the latest clinical guidelines and best practices.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as imaging studies and laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis.
- Perform wound care procedures, including dressing changes, debridement and wound closure techniques.
- Prescribe appropriate medications, including antibiotics and pain management therapies.
- Collaborate with other physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure coordination of patient care.
- Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and caregivers about health conditions, treatment options and self-care strategies to promote healing.
- Active involvement in utilization management in order to optimize patient outcomes and ensure effective use of resources.
- Manage discharge planning for patients transitioning from hospital to home or other care settings.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards and infection control practices.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution and a valid medical license to practice in the state of Texas.
- Proficiency and/or certification in the provision of wound care and wound care management.
- Excellent clinical assessment skills with the ability to perform necessary procedures.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
