Role and Responsibilities
With the support of the management provide direction and support to the driver fleet throughout the state of Indiana. Also, to assist as needed on daily basis in the following areas
- Completion of daily schedule as required
- Cover any driver vacations or driver call-offs
Compliance and Ethics
- Ensure drivers understand and operate within the compliance requirements
- Ensure drivers are following the five critical ethical behaviors

- Honesty
- Discipline
- Fair and respectful treatment of ours
- Accountability
Leadership
- Daily check in with your assigned team. Discuss any issues or concerns that could have a negative impact on any team member’s ability to be successful
- Point of contact for your team for maintenance related issues. Leads are to contact Field Fleet Maintenance Liaison to resolve any maintenance issues or request.
- Ensure drivers understand and are effectively using the required technology
- Samsara
- NEMT driver App

- Heartland Payroll Platform
- The ability to use Samsara to maintain an up-to-date location of your assigned drivers
- Ensure drivers are manifesting trips on the same day the trips are completed
- Remind drivers daily of the requirement to clock in and out for lunch. If a lead is experiencing issue with a driver following this requirement, please escalate concern to the management.
- In conjunction with Trip Assignment leads will monitor the “Driver Time off Calendar” to ensure they have a plan is in place to support driver’s time off request.
- Leads must identify a primary backup to support their team when the lead takes time off. These can be a follow team lead or a seasoned driver. Lead must communicate the primary back-up with the management
- Weekly conference calls between leads and the management (Scheduled TBA)
- It is critical all leads with the support of dispatch be able to plan and execute an appropriate response to any unexpected changes that may occur because of a driver related issue. This could include driver accidents, van maintenance issues, driver illness.
- Extra-Mile Recognition for your team (Leads will help create criteria for the recognition)
- Ensure drivers are submitting Incident/Accident reports in Samsara in a timely manner (Within an hour of the incident/accident or as soon as the driver can safely complete the forms)
- Leads must review their drivers schedules daily by 3pm. The goal is to review all trips scheduled 72 hours or less daily
- If a driver is picking a member in one region and is traveling to a different region and the trips requires significant wait time (60 Minutes or longer) Lead will inform both the lead in the destination location as well as dispatch of the potential available of the waiting driver.
- Immediately communicate with Dispatch any issues that could potential or are currently impacting the driver’s ability to complete their required trip or schedule successfully. If the lead and or dispatch is unable to resolve the issue or concern immediate escalation to the management is required
- Periodic ride along with drivers to ensure each driver is performing up to the driver expectations
- Any additional responsibilities identified by the management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25 to $27 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
