Per Diem Transportation Support Staff
The Part-Time / Per Diem Transportation Support Staff member is responsible for safely
transporting the youth to and from school, work, medical appointments, extracurricular activities, independent
living meetings, and other approved program-related activities. This role supports the overall mission of
ensuring youth maintain stability, attendance, engagement, and access to critical services.
This position requires flexibility, professionalism, strong communication skills, and a trauma-informed
approach when working with the youth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Transportation & Safety
· Safely transport youth using agency vehicles in accordance with organizational policies and Florida
traffic laws.
· Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
· Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicles.
· Ensure all passengers follow safety guidelines, including seatbelt use.
· Immediately report accidents, incidents, vehicle concerns, or safety issues.
Youth Support
· Build positive, respectful, and professional relationships with youth.
· Provide supportive supervision during transportation and community outings.
· Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
· Assist youth with punctuality, attendance, and transportation readiness.
Documentation & Communication
· Complete transportation logs, mileage reports, and incident documentation accurately and timely.
· Communicate schedule updates, delays, or concerns to supervisors and appropriate team members.
· Coordinate transportation schedules with program staff as needed.
Program Support
· Assist with occasional campus or community activities when transportation needs are minimal.
· Support emergency or last-minute transportation requests when available.
· Participate in required trainings and staff meetings.
