AM Sous Chef
Lehigh Country Club is a private club started in 1910. Since its inception Lehigh Country Club has established a fine reputation in the Lehigh Valley and holds the prestigious Distinguished Emerald Award for private clubs. Lehigh Country Club is currently hiring for an AM Sous Chef position located in Allentown, PA, 18103.
Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the successful AM Sous Chef will have an in-depth familiarity with the kitchen’s operations so that they may fill in for the Executive Chef when needed and assist them in resolving any problems that may arise.
The AM Sous Chef must possess the ability to quickly and authoritatively delegate job tasks to a large staff. They must also be able to draw upon their considerable experience as a culinary chef who has worked in many different roles and settings in order to effectively coach and mentor line cooks.
Essential Functions
- Assist the Chef with kitchen supervision at all times.
- Fully supervise AM kitchen staff whenever Chef is absent in a manner consistent with his methods and desires.
- Have a thorough knowledge and comprehension of all other kitchen employees’ duties and responsibilities.
- Prepare menu items on the line during the lunch and dinner hours of following the Chef’s recipes and methods with the highest quality possible.
- Be creative with taste and presentation of menu items paying attention to current food trends and cooking techniques.
- Assist in all preparation for line set up.
- Assist in banquet service whenever needed by the Chef or any other area the Chef may need assistance to better serve our members.
- Work with other cooks and service staff to maintain the best level of service to our members that we can possibly give them.
- Keep up to date education of new culinary trends, techniques and products
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
- At least 12 months experience in a similar capacity.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
