Job Description:
As the Culinary Operations Strategist, you will oversee the kitchen’s day-to-day operations, ensure seamless inventory management, and lead cost-control initiatives that align with our P&L goals. This role demands a sharp focus on organizational efficiency, strong leadership, and a passion for delivering unforgettable dining experiences.

Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee kitchen staff, schedules, and workflows to maintain smooth daily operations.
  • Implement and maintain efficient kitchen systems, ensuring high productivity and consistent food quality.

Profitability & Cost Control:

  • Monitor and manage P&L statements, identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Analyze food costs, portion control, and pricing strategies to maximize revenue while minimizing waste.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize labor and ingredient costs.

Inventory & Procurement:

  • Manage inventory to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing and sourcing high-quality ingredients.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory and supplies, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Quality Assurance:

  • Uphold Smokin' Jack BBQ’s high standards for food preparation, presentation, and taste.
  • Monitor and enforce food safety regulations, cleanliness, and sanitation protocols.

Team Development:

  • Train, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff to excel in their roles.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-energy work environment that values creativity and accountability.

Menu Strategy:

  • Collaborate with leadership on menu planning and innovation, keeping trends and customer feedback in mind.
  • Ensure kitchen execution aligns with menu goals and brand vision.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of kitchen management or operations experience, preferably in the BBQ or fast-casual dining industry.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, inventory control, and food cost strategies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of motivating and managing teams.
  • Knowledge of procurement and vendor relations.
  • Passion for BBQ and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
