Veterinary Kennel Assistant

Valley Oak SPCA is a non-profit, no-kill rescue organization. This job posting is for our Veterinary Clinic Department.

We are seeking a part-time Kennel Technician.

This is a part-time position. Ranging from 24-30hrs a week. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, strong communication skills and eager to learn both the clinical and customer service sides of veterinary care.

• Veterinary clinic experience and knowledge of veterinary products preferred
• Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred but not required
• Computer literate
• Available to work Saturdays
• Available to work until 8:30 PM occasionally 
• Comfortable working with cats and dogs

Kennel Assistant:

• Clean and maintain kennels to ensure a safe and sanitary environment
• Perform laundry duties
• Prepare and organize surgical packs (pack room duties)
• Assist with closing procedures
• Support overall clinic cleanliness and workflow

• Reliable and punctual
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Highly motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to take initiative and solve problems effectively
• Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with a diverse client base
