UNDERGROUND LABORER
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Underground Laborer to join our team for data fiber installation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground fiber optic cables. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the excavation and preparation of sites for underground fiber installation.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow plans and specifications to ensure proper installation of fiber optic cables.
- Collaborate with crew members to complete projects within deadlines.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of work areas and equipment.
- Adhere to safety regulations and best practices at all times.
- Report any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in the restoration of work sites after installation is complete.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in underground labor, construction, or a related field is a plus.
- Basic understanding of fiber optic installation techniques and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to run Excavators and other equipment
- Ability to drive with trailer preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Stamina to work in physically demanding conditions.
- Comfort working in confined spaces and at various depths.
