Senior Cost Accountant

Responsibilities:

·        Lead financial reporting for cost, inventory, and sales analysis, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

·        Prepare cost proposals in compliance with U.S. DFARS regulations and lead external audits.

·        Coordinate and lead all customer, DCAA and DCMA proposal audits.

·        Participate in the monthly close process, preparing journal entries and closing associated Oracle Modules related to Revenue, Cost of Sales and Inventory 

·        Prepare all post-closing inventory analysis and supporting schedules including the monthly reconciliation of perpetual inventory records to the general ledger.

·        Conduct detailed cost and margin analysis to drive margin improvement across the business

·        Collaborate with Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations managers to optimize inventory performance.

·        Prepare the key manufacturing metrics monthly highlighting key trends.

·        Develop and analyze sales forecasts, integrating actuals, backlog, and projections.·         

·        Oversee cycle counts, physical inventory processes, and variance analysis, identifying key trends.

·        Provide critical ad-hoc financial analysis to support business initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

1.  BA/BS degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required
2.  Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting, with financial analysis, cost accounting, and/or inventory  management responsibilities.
3.  Highly proficient in Excel and financial modeling. Oracle experience strongly preferred. You have a sharp eye for accuracy and a commitment to ensuring financial data integrity.
4.  Ability to turn complex data into actionable insights
5.  Comfortable communicating and presenting complex financial information to all levels of the organization, thrives working in a team environment.
6. Defense industry experience preferred
