About PCC

Parent Cooperative Community (PCC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adoptive families throughout California. Through our trauma-informed, high-fidelity Wraparound services, we partner with families and communities to help children and youth thrive. Our work depends on a collaborative team and reliable organizational support.

Position Overview

PCC is seeking a dependable, customer-focused IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical assistance and day-to-day support to employees across the organization.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, helping people, and making technology easier to use. You will serve as a go-to resource for staff experiencing technology issues, supporting Microsoft 365 applications, troubleshooting equipment, and helping maintain the systems and processes employees rely on every day.

Beyond technical troubleshooting, this role requires a strong service mindset. You will work directly with employees who have varying levels of technical experience, so patience, clear communication, professionalism, and follow-through are essential. The position also supports routine administrative and communication functions that help PCC operate efficiently.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative, approaches challenges with a positive attitude, and understands that excellent IT support starts with excellent customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide day-to-day help desk support for computers, software, printers, email, connectivity, and other common technology issues.

  • Troubleshoot technical problems, identify practical solutions, and escalate issues when additional support is needed.

  • Assist employees with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.

  • Set up and maintain computers, monitors, docking stations, software access, and related equipment.

  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting, printer setup, and equipment maintenance.

  • Support technology needs at PCC's Sacramento office and Woodland Retreat Center.

  • Document technical issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions to support consistent service.

Customer Service & Employee Experience

  • Serve as an approachable and reliable point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance.

  • Listen to staff concerns, ask questions to understand the issue, and work toward timely resolutions.

  • Explain technical information in clear, practical language to employees with different levels of technical knowledge.

  • Maintain patience and professionalism when assisting employees who are frustrated or experiencing disruptions to their work.

  • Communicate progress, set realistic expectations, and follow through on outstanding requests.

  • Help employees become more confident using organizational technology and communication tools.

  • Recognize when an issue requires escalation and ensure the employee understands the next steps.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Assist with mail and package sorting and distribution.

  • Monitor PCC's general informational email inbox, identify messages without an assigned owner, and route communications to the appropriate person or department.

  • Review incoming communications and forms to identify their general purpose and appropriate routing.

  • Assist with technology inventory management and maintain organized records.

  • Complete routine administrative tasks accurately and consistently while protecting confidential organizational information.

Qualifications

  • Experience in IT support, help desk services, customer service, or a related field. Relevant hands-on technical experience or education may also be considered.

  • Working knowledge of Windows computers, Microsoft 365, email, and common office technology.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including active listening, patience, and professional communication.

  • Ability to explain technical concepts and troubleshooting steps to nontechnical users.

  • Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work through issues methodically.

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • A proactive approach to resolving issues, accepting responsibility, and following through on commitments.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and leadership.

  • Ability to travel between PCC locations as required.

Preferred
  • CompTIA A+ certification or progress toward an entry-level IT certification.

  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, printers, and user accounts.

  • Familiarity with basic networking, equipment inventory, and help desk documentation.

  • Experience managing shared inboxes or routing administrative communications.
