The Resort is comprised of 105 acres, 27 slopes and 4 Terrain Parks with varying difficulties. Travelers from PA, OH, NY and Canada visit the resort for affordable recreation, such as: Snow Sports (Ski/Board/Terrain Park/Tubing), Golf, Adventure Park, Spa and Events. The HVAC Maintenance Technician will uses skills (such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry) to assess, repair or replace equipment for Peek ‘n Peak Resort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responsible for HVAC systems and general maintenance duties, such as: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool operations, sewage treatment and Fire Safety Systems.
  • Ensure timely completion of ‘in house’ repairs for all areas of the Resort, including: lodging, food service, public safety, recreation, utilities and sewer/water.
  • Collaborate with the Buildings & Grounds Manager and team members to ensure all resort equipment is performing optimally.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance procedures on HVAC systems, such as: changing filters, cleaning ducts, oiling parts or refilling non-toxic refrigerants.
  • Adjust controls to settings recommended by manufacturer to balance system.
  • Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans or detect malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment's, components or wiring.
  • Discuss HVAC systems with users to isolate problems or verify that repairs corrected problems.
  • Use blueprints, design specifications and manufacturers’ recommendations to ascertain configuration of components and ensure proper installations.
  • Assemble, position or mount HVAC equipment and install components, such as: expansion or discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, stokers, thermostats, humidistats and timers.
  • Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls/equipment according to diagrams and using electrician’s hand tools.
  • Complete Resort Maintenance Requests and record/report time, materials, faults, deficiencies or other unusual occurrences to manager.
  • Comply with applicable industry standards and safety regulations/emergency procedures.
  • All other duties assigned.

  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school or GED equivalent; vocational school training required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • HVAC License
  • Valid driver’s license and approved driving record authorized through company insurance provider required.

  • Must be physically able to lift 100 pounds waist high and be able to work on lifts.
  • Manual dexterity – ability to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, move two hand to grasp, manipulate or assemble products.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the finger of one or both hands to grasp. Manipulate or assemble very small objects.
  • Ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved or when parts are moved or rearranged.
  • Requires considerable use of arms and legs and positioning whole body, such as climbing in excess of 8 feet.
  • Transverse, maneuver, or position oneself to handle and adjust materials.
  • Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment found within the property.
  • Possible exposure to outdoor elements for extended periods of time.
