Assistant Director - Multiple Positions Available
Job Description
The Assistant Site Director supports the Site Director in the school’s daily operations. This role works with customers, liaises with students and the parents of young students, and helps to carry out administrative functions in the areas of inventory control, processing sales, billing, and generating reports.
Duties & Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities may include the following, but the individual will also be expected to perform all the necessary duties that are customarily performed by a person holding this position.
- In conjunction with the Site Director, ensure development and management of complex schedules of classes, staff, faculty, and students via Harmony
- Support and act as back up to the Site Director to administer the school’s enrollments, renewals, billing, collections, retail sales, inventory control, and payroll
- Monitor student and faculty attendance and ensure timely implementation of all schedules
- Assist the Site Director with planned marketing activities, community outreach, and events
- Partner with the Site Director to secure student recruitment and retention for private lessons, bands, and classes engaging regularly with existing students and parents to cross-sell programs and band services
- Provide information to parents and students; communicating and consulting with other member of the school staff and with parents to ensure the best interest of the students
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via multiple channels (phone, email, chat, etc.)
- Resolve customer complaints, issues, and concerns with a positive, solution-oriented approach
- Maintain a deep understanding of the Bach to Rock curriculum, pricing, rules, and regulations to provide knowledgeable assistance
- Ensure a high standard of quality teaching making sure teachers are using the approved school curriculum and assigning homework where appropriate
- Share responsibility for retail space being cleaned and maintained, organized, stocked, and repaired at all times
- Responsible for the timely opening and closing of the school and safe arrival and departure of students
- Observe and evaluate music teachers
- Recruit, hire, manage and evaluate faculty in collaboration with the Site Director

Job Requirements

- A High School diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field (i.e. business, management, music, etc.) is preferred
- Record keeping and time tracking experience is preferred
- Supervisory experience is preferred
- Ability to interface successfully with the public
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, additional languages are desirable
- Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective customers
- A deep interest in music and music education
- Musical training beyond the amateur level in at least one instrument is preferred
- If qualified, may be requested to teach lessons
- Strong interpersonal skills are required to facilitate good working relationships with faculty and staff and to interact with students, especially young people, and parents
- Problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Adaptable to changes in the workplace
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Ability to operate basic office equipment, i.e. telephones, photocopiers and computers
- Ability to use all relevant computer software (Microsoft Office, etc) proficiently, and the ability to learn to use B2R’s specialized systems
- Ability to be physically present at the school during its hours of operation
- Ability to pass a background check
- Possess a valid driver’s license

- Ability to work full-time
- Ability to work during the company’s normal business hours that includes weekends and evenings
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, travel up and down stairs, crouch, stoop and reach
- Ability to lift and move the equipment typically associated with B2R’s day-to-day operation, e.g., amplifiers, keyboards, recording equipment, light furniture, etc.
- Ability to attend off-site Bach to Rock events during day, nights, and weekends.
