Director, Boarding Admission
We are seeking an individual who is inspired by our mission and whose beliefs align with our core values of integrity, compassion, inquiry and courage, and reflects our core competencies to join Havergal College as Director, Boarding Admission. This is an 11 month, permanent position.
The salary for this role is $110,040 to $122,878, which is the prorated amount for the 11-month term based on a full-time 12-month equivalent of $120,000 to $134,000.

The Director, Boarding Admission is a strategic thinker and key architect of Havergal's global community. A high-level collaborator who thrives in a team of strong, capable professionals, the Director also processes the independent judgment to lead their portfolio with confidence. Reporting to the Director of Admission & Enrolment and working closely with the Executive Director, Strategic Enrolment Management (ED, SEM) with all of the processes and procedures relating to recruitment, admission and onboarding of families, the Director is someone who can look at global and domestic market data to build a multi-year growth plan and then hit the ground running to execute it. This role requires a rare blend of competitive drive and a family first heart, ensuring our growth is always balanced by our commitment to an equitable, mission-aligned student body.
A strategic connector, the Director, Boarding Admission will build relationships across constituents and departments within the school, involving themselves in the boarding program through support of the Boarding team and build relationships with families, faculty and staff through engagement in the life of the school.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Provide oversight of the end-to-end boarding recruitment lifecycle, identifying priority markets, setting annual targets and deploying ethical recruitment processes that align with those in the day school, ensuing a diverse and sustainable boarding community.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to the Admission Officer, Senior & Boarding School, including participating in the performance evaluation process.
- Participate in key recruitment and admission travel, working with current families, alumnae/OGs and local agents as well as prospective families.
- Partner with the Director of Admission & Enrolment on recruitment, admission and onboarding of Senior School day students.
- Partner with the Director, Boarding School and Director of Admission & Enrolment to plan and execute a fulsome onboarding process for our new boarding families.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with agents in key markets to ensure a strong admission funnel for boarding students.
- Participate in evening boarding duty once per month as part of engagement within the life of the school.
- Conduct market research for all boarding recruitment, being aware of our competitive landscape and providing market analysis to allow the school to remain a first-choice destination for boarding families.
- Collaborate with the ED SEM and ED MarComms on specific boarding marketing strategies.
- Liaise with the Alumnae Office to plan joint travel in conjunction with the Director of Admission & Enrolment.
- Working with the Alumnae office, develop strategies to engage boarding alumnae and their families with the School.
- Support ED SEM and Director of Admission & Enrolment with recruitment, admission and community events throughout the year.
- Attend evening/daytime functions relating to Admission and key school life events.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 7 years related experience in student recruitment and/or student admission.
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment who is able to analyze and present data to assist in setting priorities for the Admission department.
- A compelling communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is adept in both verbal and written communication.
- Displays a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Innovative approach with a curiosity to explore and desire to always improve.
- A self-starter who takes initiative, is proactive and requires minimal supervision.
