Your new role
The Logistics Lead is responsible for overseeing all material-related activities during the execution phase of the project. This includes post-award supplier logistics coordination, transportation planning, warehousing oversight, and site material management.
This role ensures that all equipment, bulk materials, tools, and consumables are delivered safely, on time, within specification, and in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
Your key responsibilities:
1. Logistics Planning & Transportation Management
• Develop and oversee domestic and international logistics strategies across all transport modes.
• Ensure compliance with customs, trade, insurance, packaging, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate carriers and logistics partners, including heavy haul and oversized transport planning.
• Approve transportation documentation and control logistics costs in alignment with project budgets and risk plans.
2. Material Management & Inventory Control
• Oversee site warehouse and material management operations, ensuring accurate receiving, inspection, storage, traceability, and preservation.
• Maintain accurate records in the Material Management System and implement controls for shortages, damages, NCRs, surplus, and replacements.
• Coordinate with Construction to ensure timely availability of spare parts, bulk materials, and critical equipment aligned with project schedules.
3. Interface with ESP’s, Engineering & Construction
• Coordinate with EPCM Supply Chain, Engineering, and vendors to align logistics, material readiness, and document deliverables.
• Support Construction with real-time material availability, constraints, and delivery forecasts.
• Participate in construction readiness, materials risk, and interface coordination reviews.
4. Team Leadership & Oversight
• Lead and supervise logistics and materials personnel, ensuring alignment with construction priorities.
• Establish processes, KPIs, and performance monitoring tools for logistics and material management.
• Ensure team compliance with project procedures, safety standards, governance requirements, and provide necessary training.
5. Reporting & Data Management
• Maintain accurate delivery schedules, logistics trackers, and materials dashboards.
• Prepare regular performance reports and support cost forecasting and risk analysis.
• Ensure document traceability and audit-ready records within SAP, MMS, Aconex, and EDMS systems.
What you'll need to succeed
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of logistics, or material management experience within mining, oil & gas, heavy industrial projects or major capital projects.
• Experience on EPC or EPCM projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of international logistics, customs regulations, trade compliance, and transport planning.
• Proficiency with SAP, MMS, or major ERP and material tracking systems.
• Certifications (SCMP, APICS, ICC logistics, PMP) considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of supply chain and Major Project material flow
• Bilingualism is required
