Millwright – Pump & Motor Service Technician

Delta Water Products is seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team, specializing in the service, repair, and maintenance of pumps, motors, and related mechanical equipment. This role plays a critical part in supporting our reputation for technical expertise and reliable service within the commercial, industrial, municipal, and groundwater markets. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pump & Motor Repairs:
Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble a wide range of pumps and motors, including submersible, centrifugal, booster, and wastewater pumps. - Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in the field and in the shop environment. - Installation Support:
Assist with new system installations and retrofits, ensuring components are aligned, mounted, and functioning to manufacturer specifications. - Field Service Work:
Perform on-site service calls for emergency breakdowns or scheduled maintenance. Interface directly with customers to assess issues and deliver solutions. - Testing & Quality Control:
Conduct performance testing on repaired equipment to confirm operational integrity prior to return to customer. - Documentation:
Complete detailed work orders, service reports, and repair documentation to support warranty, customer communication, and internal tracking. - Parts & Inventory:
Assist in identifying replacement parts and coordinating with inside sales and inventory staff to support efficient repair timelines. - Health & Safety:
Follow all safety procedures and protocols while working in shop and field environments. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces. - Collaboration:
Work closely with the sales, quotations, and technical support teams to ensure excellent service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Certified Journeyman Millwright or equivalent trade certification.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in rotating equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Familiarity with basic electrical systems (motor wiring, controls) is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel for field service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Working Conditions:
- Combination of shop and field work, including some travel to customer sites.
- May include lifting, climbing, and working in confined or wet spaces.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required in certain environments.
