We are currently accepting applications for the position of Field Logistics Specialist. This is a full-time permanent position based out of our London, Ontario office.
Field Logistics Specialist
Reporting to the Manager of Archaeological Assessments, the Field Logistics Specialist performs a range of duties supporting a job site field program. TMHC undertakes field projects throughout the Province of Ontario using field teams ranging in size from one to fifteen or more people. The duration of these projects may range from a few hours to several months. Teams are dispatched on a daily basis.
Duties of Field Logistics Specialist will consist of maintaining and distributing the daily field schedule to staff, responding to last minute and after hours staffing and project changes, maintaining a master list of upcoming field projects, assigning and coordinating the use of field equipment and vehicles to project teams, assembling mapping and information packages for field supervisors, submitting and monitoring Ontario One Call utility locates, and overseeing the vehicle maintenance program.
Salary will be commensurate with experience ($63,000 to $72,000 per annum).
Work Experience
· Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in the coordination of personnel and project scheduling, preferably in the archaeology, environmental monitoring, construction, or other seasonal operations sectors
Responsibilities
· Coordinating the initiation and completion of all field projects
· Communicating field schedule to field staff daily, adjusting as needed for weather conditions, employee absences and last-minute changes
· Maintaining a listing of current and upcoming field projects
· Coordinating use of field vehicles and equipment
· Assisting with preparing mapping packages and instructions for field crews
· Assisting in planning for accommodations for field staff on away projects
· Keeping up to date on Ontario One Call requirements and procedures
· Submitting utility locates requests for TMHC projects
· Compiling a list of projects requiring utility locates, updating status of locates received, communicating status to project managers
· Coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs, maintaining a log of such and archiving associated invoices
Qualifications and Skills
· Archaeology and heritage knowledge is an asset, but not a requirement
· Solid communication and interpersonal skills, including a strong ability to build and manage relationships with personnel
· Strong organizational and time-management skills
· Proactive problem-solving
· Ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
· Professionalism, tact and confidentiality
· Strength in accuracy and attention to detail and timelines
· Adaptable with a high-degree of autonomy and self-motivation
· Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
