BridgeKids Coordinator—Classroom & Curriculum

Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements
● Curriculum Preparation and Implementation—Ensure BridgeKids classrooms are ready each week
○ Prepare and organize curriculum materials for all classrooms (nursery through 5th grade)
○ Print, copy, assemble, and distribute lessons and activity supplies to classrooms ○ Adapt curriculum to reflect theological accuracy and Bridgeway’s mission and vision
○ Collaborate with the BridgeKids Leadership Team members for lesson planning and sequencing
○ Directly monitor the delivery of educational content and programming, volunteer classroom management, and provide volunteer oversight
○ Maintain regular and timely communications through church communication channels
● Classroom Environment and Excellence—Maintain safe, clean, and engaging classroom spaces
○ Ensure classrooms are organized, welcoming, and age-appropriate
○ Verify that classrooms have been accurately set up before Sunday services with needed supplies and lesson materials
○ Inventory and restock supplies weekly, communicating needs to the Director ○ Monitor classroom cleanliness and safety standards in collaboration with the Building Logistics team when needed
● Volunteer Support—Resource volunteers for successful teaching and care
○ In conjunction with BridgeKids Leadership Team,
■ Prepare teacher bins and ensure all volunteer materials are ready each week
■ Communicate curriculum highlights and classroom preparation updates to volunteers
■ Assist in training volunteers on curriculum use and classroom best
practices as needed
■ Recruit, interview, train adult and student volunteers in their serving roles, including curriculum use and classroom best practices as needed
■ Equip classroom leads to support the church’s overarching vision and church-wide ministry efforts
● Services Management
○ In conjunction with BridgeKids Leadership Team,
■ Ensure student safety protocols are implemented during Sunday services
■ Create a welcoming environment for families and volunteers
■ Lead and support Sunday volunteer teams
■ Steward ministry spaces, equipment, and supplies
■ Maintain knowledge of BridgeKids Policies and Procedures
Ministerial Functions (If Applicable)
This position is not a pastoral role but requires spiritual maturity and modeling Christlike character in all interactions with children, families, and volunteers.
Required Education and Qualifications
● High School Diploma
● Experience working with children in educational or ministry environments
● Availability for Sundays and midweek preparation hours
Preferred Education and Qualifications
● Coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Ministry ● Experience with multicultural curriculum adaptation
● Familiarity with Planning Center, Google Suite, and standard office software

Special Projects & Stewardship
● Attend weekly 1:1 meetings with BridgeKids Director
● Attend weekly BridgeKids Leadership team meetings
● Attend monthly BCC staff meetings
● Hold regular meetings with volunteer team leads
● Assist with BridgeKids special events
○ Team training, fellowships, holiday programming, etc.
Supervisory Responsibility
● None (supports volunteers but does not directly supervise them)
Work Environment
● Professional church-based environment
● Primarily onsite for preparation and Sunday execution
● May include limited remote hours for lesson planning as approved by supervisor
This role uses standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, and copiers.
Physical Requirements
● Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
● Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching in classroom environments
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
● Part-Time, Non-Exempt (Approximately 20 hours per week)
● Sundays required; additional hours to be scheduled midweek

Travel
The position is primarily located at the Columbia campus, with occasional travel between the Columbia campus and the Owings Mills-Reisterstown campus.
