Regional Manager of Leadership Development & Home Support

Status: Permanent Full-Time

Under the direction of the Director of Long-Term Care Operations, the Regional Manager - Leadership Development & Home Support is responsible and accountable for strengthening leadership capacity, succession readiness, engagement, and sustainability across the Long-Term Care Division.


This role provides structured leadership development, education, mentoring, succession planning support, and operational leadership assistance to all levels of management, including Executive Directors, Directors of Care, department managers, and emerging leaders. The role ensures leadership practices across the organization support safe operations, regulatory compliance, person-centered care, and alignment with Jarlette Health Services’ mission, values, and Philosophy of Living.


The Regional Manager also provides direct supervision of the PREP - LTC Student Coordinator team, supports leadership onboarding and retention, and delivers short-term leadership and operational support to Homes experiencing vacancies, transitions, or performance risk.



The following traits and qualifications are required:


Education

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in health administration, business administration, human resources, or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Must have successfully completed, or be enrolled in, a Long-Term Care Home Administration or Management program (minimum 100 hours of instruction) as required under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in Long-Term Care or a regulated health or social services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Executive Director, Director of Care, Regional Manager, or equivalent senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in leadership development, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and education delivery with specific experience in adult education principles.
  • Strong knowledge of Long-Term Care legislation, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
  • Certifications & Training:
  • First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Level 1 and 2 Certification.
  • Gentle Persuasion Approach (GPA) trainer.

  • Demonstrates strong leadership presence, credibility, and professionalism when working with leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of emotional intelligence with the ability to assess, coach, and influence leadership behaviour.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and adult education skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to support succession planning and leadership development across diverse management roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to influence and guide leaders without direct authority.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in sensitive human resources and leadership matters.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities across geographically dispersed locations.
  • Comfortable operating in complex, regulated, and high-accountability environments.
  • Strong commitment to resident-centered care, organizational culture, and the Philosophy of Living.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, resilience, and composure during periods of change, crisis, or leadership transition.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License, in good standing, and be willing to travel as required.

Competency:

  • Two years in this job to reach full competency.
