Superviseur(e) de camp / Camp supervisor
Reporting to the Camp Management Superintendent, the camp supervisor will work with the superintendent to ensure that operations run smoothly. He/she will rigorously monitor compliance with the specifications and ensure that kitchen and housekeeping standards are maintained. Based at the Windfall site, located in the Nord-du-Québec region, he/she will be required to work an 8-day on, 6-day off schedule or a 15-day on, 13-day off schedule. Transportation, accommodation and meals provided.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act at all times as a leader in safety, the environment and community relations in order to help achieve the highest standards;
- Comply at all times with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and regulations and ensure that staff comply with these rules;
- Supervise the management of stocks of equipment, supplies and consumables necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
- Monitor the health and safety measures of the contractor in place;
- Ensure the proper management of supplies and their distribution;
- Carry out daily inspections of the facilities and the service to ensure that our service provider complies with the specifications;
- Control expenses and adjust operations to stay within the allocated budget;
- Establish KPI performance objectives;
- Maintain fluid communication with the Superintendent;
- Provide regular reports on the status of the camp;
- Maintain good communication between the various departments while resolving problems in real time;
- Participate in the daily meeting with the contractor;
- Encourage continuous improvement and adherence to best practices;
- Report any situation that could affect the health and safety of staff at work or the physical integrity of the facilities;
- Perform any other tasks related to the camp supervisor position that are relevant to the success of the project.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in administration, hotel management or any other relevant training;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in camping or hospitality;
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience;
- Experience working with First Nations (an asset);
- Valid class 5 driver's license.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Bilingualism in English and French (will have to communicate with English-speaking contractors and suppliers);
- Good knowledge of inventory management software;
- Experience in food hygiene and safety (MAPAQ), (an asset);
- Good knowledge of Office suite software.
BASIC SKILLS
- Very good ability to manage change;
- Ability to convey information concisely and maintain good communication with the team and management;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and achieve established goals and objectives;
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems;
- Ability to work in harmony with other team members;
- Good communication skills, both oral and written;
- Respect for established processes and safety rules.
