Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator Part-time
Job Description:
· Develop, implement, and review safety standards to comply with legislation and company policies.
· Implement AODA procedures.
· Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee, address safety issues, and ensure follow-up on recommendations.
· Perform regular inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
· Organize and deliver safety training programs, ensuring employees meet required safety qualifications.
· Maintain WHMIS program, track chemical inventory, and ensure SDS sheets are accessible.
· Manage safety supplies and first aid kits, while coordinating waste reduction and continuous improvement efforts.
· Collaborate with departments (HR, Maintenance, Engineering) to ensure new equipment meets safety requirements.
· Administer return-to-work programs, handle claims, and ensure required paperwork (e.g., WSIB Form 7) is completed.
· Ensure HSE records, reports, and communications are accurate and kept confidential.
· Ensure compliance with ISO and IATF standards, promoting continuous improvement and workplace safety.
· Adhere to company policies, promoting safety, ethics, and 5S standards in the workplace.
· Create concepts to eliminate accidents and workers injuries
· Ensure rules and guidelines of impact of the company’s activities on the environment are adhered to, ex promoting the 3R’s Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
Job Qualifications:
· Completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, ideally in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/ automotive environment.
· Certification as a Certified Registered Safety Practitioner (C.R.S.P.) is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of applicable Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and legislation in Ontario.
