As part of our communications and marketing team, you will assist with developing content that captures the heart of our programs—particularly at Camp Horizon, where you’ll help document life-changing experiences for campers with disabilities and medical conditions. You’ll work alongside counsellors and staff to ensure all content respects privacy guidelines and celebrates the joy, inclusion, and empowerment at the core of our mission.

This role is perfect for students who are eager to grow their skills in a collaborative, fast-paced, and purpose-driven environment.

With a rich history spanning over 70 years, our mission is to provide Albertans with the resources they need to lead full and empowered lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Photography/Communications/Marketing Summer Student, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing creative concepts for photos and videos, focusing on storytelling that aligns with Easter Seals Alberta’s mission and values.
  • Capturing and editing high-quality imagery and short-form video content at Camp Horizon and other events.
  • Ensuring all photography adheres to consent protocols, working with camp counsellors to track camper permissions.
  • Organizing and maintaining digital content using effective file management systems.
  • Designing engaging content for social media platforms, newsletters, and other digital channels using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or CapCut.
  • Supporting the execution of marketing campaigns and content calendars.
  • Contributing to our brand’s online presence by scheduling posts, writing captions, and interacting with our audience.
  • Assisting with internal team tasks and occasional office support as needed.

What You Bring to the Team

We’re looking for a driven, creative team member who is:

  • Creative and visually driven, with a strong understanding of digital storytelling.
  • Confident using photography and video tools (experience with Canon Rebel is an asset).
  • Skilled in editing software like CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
  • Highly organized with strong digital file management habits.
  • Able to follow brand guidelines while bringing new ideas to the table.
  • Enthusiastic about Easter Seals Alberta’s mission of inclusion and accessibility.
  • Proactive, team-oriented, and willing to support broad projects.
  • Comfortable creating content that supports fundraising initiatives.
  • In possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You…

  • Are passionate about storytelling and capturing powerful, mission-aligned moments.
  • Stay current with social media trends and know how to create inclusive, engaging content.
  • Can confidently film, edit, and caption content using smartphones and DSLR tools.
  • Are great at managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and also enjoy working independently.
  • Are open to appearing in front of the camera for behind-the-scenes or trend-based content.
  • Are excited to travel to Camp Horizon (near Bragg Creek) at least three days per week.
