Job Title: Electrical Instructor (Part-Time)

About the Role:
CRL Resources is seeking an experienced Electrical Instructor to provide hands-on training to students preparing for careers in the electrical trade. The instructor will guide students through practical applications such as conduit bending, wireways, raceways, residential wiring, and other foundational skills outlined in the NCCER Electrical Level 1 curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on instruction in electrical skills, including but not limited to:

    • Hand bending of conduit (90° bends, offsets, back-to-back, and saddle bends).

    • Installation of wireways, raceways, fittings, and terminations.

    • Selection and installation of outlet, device, pull, and junction boxes.

    • Residential wiring practices, including load calculations, panelboard components, and circuit requirements.

    • Proper use of electrical test equipment.

  • Teach and demonstrate safe work practices, including PPE selection, hazard recognition, and proper tool use.

  • Support student learning by providing guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations.

  • Maintain training records in accordance with NCCER standards.

  • Foster a professional and encouraging classroom environment that prepares students for entry-level electrical positions.

Qualifications:

  • Journey-level electrical experience required (minimum of 4–5 years in the trade).

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, materials, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).

  • Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience preferred, but not required.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to student success and workforce development.

Position Details:

  • Part-Time: Schedule and hours may vary depending on class needs.

  • Location: On-site, hands-on training environment in Birmingham, Alabama
