THE POSITION
The Room Attendant position is responsible for the overall cleanliness of luxury hotel and residences rooms. The successful candidate of this role has a good understanding of sanitation regulations, cleaning protocol, and high-level of attention to detail. They must be able to guarantee cleanliness for each room and assigned productivity within the shift period. This role is required to report any maintenance deficiency to ensure items in the rooms are in perfect working order. The Room Attendant must demonstrate good communication skills as they will be interacting with members from other departments and greeting guests in a professional and guest-focused manner.
The Room Attendant will be directly reporting to the Director of Housekeeping and Housekeeping Supervisors, working alongside Housepersons and other Room Attendants.
This role will be working at a maximum of five (5) days per week in-person at 318 Wellington Street West, Toronto, Ontario.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Stripping linens and handling linen as instructed.
- Vacuuming and dusting throughout the suite (carpeted and marble floors).
- Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and fixtures.
- Washing bathroom floors.
- Cleaning glass, wood, aluminum, and marble surfaces with approved cleaning products.
- Checking room amenities and replacing items.
- Attending to guest requests.
- Ensuring linens and amenities are fully stocked in the housekeeping pantry.
- Handling and reporting lost and found iterms.
- Emptying garbage bins.
- Reporting suites/rooms that require maintenance repair.
- Reporting housekeeping items that require deep cleaning (e.g. bed skirts and carpet stains).
- Setting room temperature control.
- Reporting "Do Not Disturb" or "Refuse Service" rooms in a timely manner.
- Completing daily reports as per training.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum one (1) year experience in hotel housekeeping. (Previous experience in customer service an asset.)
- Adaptable and able to work with a variety of people.
- Able to work on feet for an extended period.
- Open availability between Monday to Sunday, between 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet assigned deadlines.
- Demonstrates guest service focused mindset.
- Willingness to learn and a positive, respectful attitude.
