Logistics Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator is tasked to assist Global Logistics Manager to create, follow up, oversee, and enhance various logistics solutions with optimal cost efficiency and smooth operation procedure. With the support of the Manager and all other team leaders, the Logistics Coordinator will work with internal teams and external logistics service providers to support WCE/GTC’s operations and ensure high standard handovers from points of loading to the end customers.
â— Daily ocean export operation on freight management - communicate and coordinate with sea/road carriers, loaders, truckers, customs brokers, fumigation vendors and other service providers to ensure on time deliveries to the deep-sea terminal.
â— Monitor shipment status and provide regular updates internally and externally to ensure shipments smoothly moved to the destination ports.
â— Communicate and coordinate closely with each project team to gather required key information of their logistics demands and needs.
â— Complete performance reports for all carriers and forwarders with monthly meetings and implements continuous improvement.
â— Maintain accurate filing system(s), update/input details of shipments in system and ensure accuracy for billing.
â— Take the lead in handling of special projects/accounts as assigned, coordinate, and monitor movement of shipments from A to Z.
â— Ensure new or updated policies, SOPs and protocols are properly communicated and implemented with internal teams and/or external partners.
â— Assist in selecting the most cost-effective logistics options/routes based on required timelines & approved freight rates.
â— Ensure open and active communication with the German logistics team about planning and booking activities, identify issues, and report to the manager.
â— Monitor activities of freight forwarders and shipping lines, update all cross functional departments with incoming timelines, changes, delays, availability, rate adjustment...etc.
â— Assist in communicating with each project team on weekly and monthly basis to acquire ongoing volume forecasts.
â— Other assignments given by the manager as needed.
â— Working hours: 6 am- 2 pm ET
â— Hold legal working permit/ PR/ Citizen in Canada.
â— Previous experience in ocean logistics or international trade is preferred.
â— Post-secondary education in International Business, Logistics or related.
â— Strong understanding of International Import/Export.
â— Computer proficiency for required scope of work.
â— Interpersonal communication skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
â— Strong open-minded teamwork spirit.
â— Ability to manage multiple ongoing critical deadlines.
â— Experience with customs documentation and procedures.
