The Business Partner is a key contributor to the success of TNDC, supporting operational excellence by coordinating essential administrative activities across in-territory Human Resources, Finance, and Community Liaison functions. This role helps ensure efficient internal processes, strengthens communication between departments and communities, and upholds TNDC’s commitment to safety, respect, and high performance.
We are seeking a highly organized, culturally grounded professional who takes pride in supporting Tahltan values and community priorities. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a genuine passion for contributing to TNDC’s people, projects, and Nation-building work.
Responsibilities:
Human Resources Support (Regional Projects, Dease Lake Office, Shop, Airport)
- Assist with recruitment efforts, onboarding, employee relations, and employee documentation.
- Conduct/coordinate workplace investigations.
- Coordinate training schedules and certification tracking.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
- Coordinate JST meetings, taking minutes and setting agendas.
Finance Administration
- Assist with invoice processing, expense tracking, and budget reporting.
- Liaise with Finance team to ensure timely and accurate data entry.
- Support procurement documentation and cost coding.
- Assist in preparing financial summaries for internal reporting.
Community Liaison
- Act as a bridge between TNDC operations and Tahltan community protocols.
- Support TNDC Communications Team, coordinating TNDC functions, activities and other in the territory.
- Coordinate cultural awareness and community engagement events.
- Liaise with Elders, community leaders, and cultural advisors as needed.
- Coordinate board meetings and act as an extension of the CEO’s Executive Assistant.
- Support the TNDC Board Chair as required.
- Assist in community event planning
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative or coordination roles.
- Strong understanding of Tahltan culture and values (Tahltan applicants).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Based in Dease Lake, on-site.
- Occasional travel to TNDC sites or community events.
- Standard office hours with flexibility during peak operational periods.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing
Provide guidance, training, and
mentorship to team members, especially local Tahltan workers, by sharing
technical skills, safety practices, and industry knowledge in a respectful and
culturally aware manner. Uphold Tahltan values and principles by fostering a
work environment built on respect, teamwork, and mutual learning. Support the
growth of the Tahltan workforce by helping build capacity, promoting safe and
effective work practices, and ensuring that knowledge is passed on to
strengthen both the team and the broader Tahltan community for the benefit of
current and future generation.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

· Valid class 5 driver’s license and willing to provide a current driver abstract
· Willingness to work occasional overtime during peak or critical work periods
