The Opportunity: 

The Systems Administrator supports the IT & Data Systems Management Team in all aspects of the Agency’s computer network infrastructure. This position collaborates with the IT & Data Systems Management Team in the planning and coordination of the Agency’s system infrastructure, growth analysis and capacity planning; performs installations, provides maintenance, trains staff as required; plans and coordinates projects to meet specific deadlines; updates and trouble shoots onsite security software’s; programs website updates in conjunction with the marketing team.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports in the management of multiple linked databases to include security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery and development and implementation of bulk data import/export procedures as directed by the IT & Data Systems Management Team;
  • Supports in the management of servers and workstations ensuring proper integration of these components with DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society computer systems;
  • Supports the planning and implements system security that includes firewalls, host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts;
  • Conducts growth analysis and capacity planning, and participates in capital and IT budget proposals;
  • Provides on-call consulting advice and technical support to DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society users/client organizations regarding specific operational and applications issues;
  • Collaborates on the designs and develops advanced methods and procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying data for input and/or retrieval;
  • Implements FOB and surveillance camera security system to update permissions, collect data, create groups and provide captured visual records to property incidents;
  • Designs and programs specific applications in response to department/client needs; installs and debugs new and/or upgraded software on server and client platforms, ensuring compliance with current site licenses;
  • Programs, updates and collaborates on all website platforms and associated pages using WordPress, PHP and MYSQL;
  • Collaborates for research, evaluates, recommends purchase, installs, configures and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary to meet integrated IT systems objectives;
  • Monitors and updates SharePoint user permissions;
  • Responsible to update and maintain IT asset inventory for the enterprise;
  • Supports the development and implementation on various training and instruction programs and tools for users on the use of operating systems applications and databases;
  • Controls helpdesk ticketing system to assign user requests;
  • Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment and/or systems;
  • May lead or guide the work of other staff and/or volunteers engaged in similar functions;
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.  

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • Minimum Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent designation;
  • Minimum of 3 years recent related experience with providing IT support and infrastructures;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate technical terms in simple language;
  • Strong experience on back-up systems and strong working knowledge of technologies/systems;
  • Ability to keep current with rapid changes in the information technology environment.
