This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic team-player to join the Ace Casino Blackfoot security team as a casual guard. We are looking for someone with a Winning Attitude, who wants to be part of a Winning Culture, and brings a Winning Energy who can join us in providing excellent, professional service to our patrons and staff. This position is based at Ace Casino Blackfoot located minutes from downtown Calgary and is an excellent opportunity to join our team.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

o Promote positive customer service in and around the Casino.

o Answer inquiries and assist patrons when and where possible.

o Maintain constant vigilance to ensure the safety of both patrons and staff.

o Actively communicate with team members and on-shift supervisors to identify and supply information regarding suspicious activities, individuals, and/or misconduct.

o Actively participate in the removal of individuals deemed undesirable, disruptive and/or under the influence.

o Escort of patrons and staff to and from the Casino upon request.

o Implementing fire alarm, bomb threat or robbery protocols, including full evacuation.

o Response to security incidents or medical emergencies in a timely fashion.

o Pit Check - Ensure table boxes are distributed to appropriate tables, and boxes have been properly reset and locked by count room staff. Completed once in the evening after the close of table games and once by morning staff, before the casino opens, to prevent mishaps during the table box pull.

o Adheres to good OH&S practices.

o Ensure all irregular, unusual, suspicious, or illegal activities are controlled and reported.

o Ensure the accurate and neat recording of all activities in the appropriate logs and reports.

o Safeguard all confidential information and exercise due care to prevent its improper disclosure or use.

o Maintain and promote good public relations and communications with the Casino's patrons and staff.

o Comply with all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

o Ensures all money and chips are safe.

o Complete incident reports as needed.

o Execute duties in a positive and a professional manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

o Minimum of 1 year customer/public service experience.

o Security/Gaming experience preferred.

o Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

o Must be able to complete all regulatory requirements prior to commencing work.

o Police information check (no older than 90 days)

o Pro-Tect

o Pro-Serve

o Anti-money laundering training

o AGLC Deal-Us In

o Must have current First Aid/CPR C/AED certificate or obtain within 90 days of employment.

o Alberta Security License is an asset.

o Post-Secondary Education in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology or related fields is an asset.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

o Must be 18 years or older to work in a casino.

o Excellent written and oral communication skills.

o Demonstrated customer service abilities.

o Prior training in de-escalation and conflict resolution is an asset.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

o Must be able to lift 25kg (approx. 50lbs).

o Ability to restrain violent individuals and be involved in physical conflicts.

o Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

o Ability to respond quickly to urgent and emergency situations.

o Ability to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
