Housekeeper
The housekeeping position, reporting to the Director of Administration and Services, involves providing housekeeping services to seniors in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. Duties include general housekeeping, laundry, and other related tasks as requested by the supervisor. A reliable personal vehicle is required for travel to seniors' homes. Community Services provides a comprehensive benefits package, along with mileage reimbursement for travel-related expenses.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Provide light housekeeping services, including cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, washing dishes, and organization of clients' homes to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Help maintain a safe home environment by identifying areas needing attention.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided.
• Familiarity with effective cleaning techniques, tools, and materials, with a focus on creating a safe and sanitary living environment.
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Compassionate and patient with seniors, with strong interpersonal skills to provide friendly, respectful, and professional service.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to cleaning to ensure a secure environment for seniors.
• Ability to perform tasks such as light housekeeping and standing for short periods.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
• Grade 10 high school education.
• A minimum of six months related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Requirements:
• Clear Criminal Record Check is required.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Valid and unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to a safe and reliable vehicle.
• Acceptable Driver’s Abstract (provided annually).
• Position requires Union Membership.
Shift/Schedule/Hours per week: Temporary; 25 - 30 hours per week – until return of incumbent
Expected Start Date: ASAP
Wage/Salary: $21.72/hour
